History: He got into the Gardener business at a young age. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Gardener for hire.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.
