Umpen took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up hand crossbow and armor he uses now. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. A true patriot, Valafar would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Valafar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Valafar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.
