History: He was born on a small isolated farm. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the east. Through the years after Hugh was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east.
