To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Richard lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Dyer they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Map Maker, and he later adopted a second daughter.
