History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Gnomes in the south were limited. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after William was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. William's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.
