It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He has two modes he varies between. On the job he is cold, steely and emotionless. Off the job he is a party animal. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Merchant.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and balancing his hectic life and new merchant responsibilities is difficult

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Gerard grew up listening to his father's many stories. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: Marry his brother to traveling adventurers.

Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. Only to laugh say gotcha and shoot double pistol fingers at the fooled target.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
