History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Sammal was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Sammal alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Fortune-teller. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Fortune-teller.

Personality: He goes out his way to put a smile on everyone's face. There's no-one he won't accept into his heart. Any perceived weakness will be pressed and exploited. He is seen as merciless and passionate.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Glim grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Glim. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
