History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his mother. Through the years after Umpen was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Umpen's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: He is inclined to make off color jokes and interpret anything that could be construed as such as innuendo. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and many dire rats want him driven away

History: He was raised in a mountains tribe. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

A fanatic, his devotion to his small selection of gods is unquestionable. He claims to be doing their will and will base all his actions on whether or not they would be pleasing to the gods.

History: Born in the north to a Guard, Norman learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving Norman alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He tends to his Guard job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.
