History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. While he appears to be a normal Gnome, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Slave Trader for hire.

Motivation: To end his boredom; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Umpen grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Marshal.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. His parents were killed by brigands in a raid when he was still a young child. The brigands captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
