History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the north. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Halflings in the north were limited. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: Nelkin lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born in the east. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
