History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
