Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Miller for the past few years.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and balancing his hectic life and new miller responsibilities is difficult

Description: This fat eastern man has a bulbous nose and wears loose pants and a collared shirt complete with sweater beneath his coat. His skin is also unnaturally pale. He has a small bristly mustache and wavy silver hair. He wears round tiny glasses practically rammed into his face.

Personality: He is overprotective of those who hire his services. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the forest to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Burto took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up longbow and armor he uses now. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Personality: He is fixated on the number 70. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He wants to meet his childhood hero; and he desires power and/or immortality

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a tea of some kind. He sports green clothing, slightly heavier than average wear, marred by teas. His hair is long and red with streaks of black, and is pulled back with small green clips. His beard is black, braided, and well cared for. His face is scarred and worn.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Ortegar isn't afraid of most anything. He has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Halfling unity. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Navigator profession.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. Ostracized due to the druidic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Halflings became a terror of the countryside.
