History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Dustin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Sage. He now owns his own business.

He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Paelias and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. He takes great joy in being the best Engraver in town.

History: He was born in the east. He worked as a nervous Engraver and found it very stressful. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and expand his business
