Personality: He is business-like. He takes instructions and follows them to the letter. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Ostracized due to the psionic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. Personality: Balam wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Expert, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Balam is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He now owns his own business.
