History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Emerald was born on a far northern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Dilettante. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: Alex wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Commoner, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... His brief stint in the army gave him the idea he was invincible and that he is the toughest man alive.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
