History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Rurik was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Mason work with an outfit from a few towns over. Mason work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and to end his boredom

History: Born in the north to a Tailor, Gilbert learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. A gifted student he started as a Fletcher, but he got bored and became a Tailor. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
