Personality: He is fixated on the number 44. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He worked as a nervous Bricklayer and found it very stressful. He has achieved small success as a Bricklayer.

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.

Personality: This man loves writing and to teach people writing more than just about anything. He takes great joy in being the best Gardener in town.

History: Nicor hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Gardener responsibilities is difficult; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
