History: He comes from a rich western family. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and he has money and likes to spend it
