He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. History: Balam was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
