History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Marbas was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Orryn embodies much of what other species detest in the Gnomes. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Orryn was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Orryn's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Orryn was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.
