History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Shivering was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and to get a good night's sleep

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: A deep hatred of giants; and he wants revenge against giants
