History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Baern was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.

He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.

Personality: He considers himself the perfect gentleman. He makes a point to always show proper etiquette and frequently critiques the etiquette of others. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: He was born in a small mountains village. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Elven activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Elven doctor. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Elven people; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world
