History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. After a long history of fighting, Balam and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and his religion dominates his actions
