After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has been helping groups of widows and orphans who have fled abusive spouses or lost their families to illithids.

His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Donaar took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up flail and armor he uses now. He has achieved small success as a Marshal.
