History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his mother. River was born on a far eastern mountains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Scribe. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Architect born in the past three hundred years. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Architect. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Architect for hire.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Architect responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: He got into the Soapmaker business at a young age. He worked as a nervous Soapmaker and found it very stressful. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: He is greedy; and he is unsatisfied with his job

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He has never given up on his writing dream.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
