History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Emerald has worked very hard to control his curse. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Mortician. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Mortician.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Fonkin alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He's also a talented Stableman, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Revenge.

Personality: He is shy and timid. He has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. He feeds upon the attention of others.

History: Thamuz hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs.
