In the process these unassuming Dragonborns became a terror of the countryside. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting dire rats, the young Veit began to lead the lost caravan. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature quarterstaff.
