Personality: He has always had a great fascination with Gnomish culture. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Gnomish people.

Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Halfling in existence. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.

Description: He is scrawny and has patchy white stubble. He does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it. He has a hunchback. He has a very tight haircut. His gray eyes peer out from beneath his top black hat.

Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Varis fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
