History: Hagren lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Rael was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Painter born in the past three hundred years. He is underhanded and not above using his wealth and body to get others to do his bidding.

History: He got into the Painter business at a young age. A gifted student he started as a Cartwright, but he got bored and became a Painter. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Painter responsibilities is difficult; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it
