History: Medrash hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting illithids, the young Medrash began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the west; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
