History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Map Maker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Mamnen alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He wants revenge against gnolls; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it
