History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He found a children's book about a Halfling Adept who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: Born to a Blacksmith, his mother struggled to pay the bills. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Hubert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature kukri.
