History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Cloak alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Howard was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. After a long history of fighting, Howard and his spouse have recently divorced.
