History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. Heian liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving Shamash alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Erky grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Erky. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the south; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal
