History: He was born in the south. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Halflings in Gildmak's homeland. Gildmak decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Direcris lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: Azaki is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. The war was a terrible time for him, and Azaki does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Azaki was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Azaki was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care.
