History: Quarion lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Ozyman was born with his father's beautiful face. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ozyman grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ozyman. He has never given up on his writing dream.

History: When he was but 7 years old his parents immigrated from the west. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He now mingles about in high society.
