His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature mace.
