History: Born in the west to a Bellfounder, Jak learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He tends to his Bellfounder job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. After a long history of fighting, Heian and his spouse have recently divorced.
