History: He comes from a rich northern family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gildmak grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gildmak. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: Born in the north to a Brewer, Theobald learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: He was born at the edge of vast mountains. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered singing. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
