History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Marshal arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Personality: He is cool and collected. He likes to make quips and puns whenever he does anything. He also makes a point to compliment his superiors and flatter them. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Rivaan is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Rivaan grew up listening to his father's many stories. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
