After coming to the age of reason, Ortegar took it upon himself to study the arcane arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
