He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

Personality: He exudes charisma. He is a tour de force of persuasion. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Qualen hails from a village terrorized by orcs. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by orcs. Qualen was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the orcs.
