History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Umpen grew up listening to his father's many stories. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Gnomes in Umpen's homeland. Umpen decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.
