History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with writing. He constantly tries to fill his life with writing. He does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Jocelyn was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He has never given up on his writing dream.
