History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Rurik alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. After a long history of fighting, Rurik and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He thrives on attention. He does whatever is in his power to gain the attention of whomever he deems a fit date. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the east. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Barendd was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it.
