Personality: Don hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his writing career. History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Don was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: He runs his personal life as if detached from it. He organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits he will get from it. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Cartwright but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He got into the Cartwright business at a young age. Cockaby abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He became a Cartwright soon after.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor.
