History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Balam was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Balam was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the brigands.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Body Guard arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Patrick wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Ranger, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.
