Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bernard fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: A child with a great deal of music talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Theren was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.

Miles took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up shield and armor he uses now. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.
