History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Thorpe alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and he wants revenge against illithids
