Conrad's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: Paelias hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting dire rats, the young Paelias began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
